The Immortality Of Music

It’s an industry that will never die. Music has always be a connector and a language that unites people.

One of the most curious things about music is that has a secret code that needs no words to evoke feelings on a human being or even on a pet. Take it from Schubert’s “Ave Maria”. This song has been analyzed scientifically to try to understand why people feel like crying when they hear it in a church choir or any interpretation they hear. It’s dark yet sweet mood brings out a new horizon to explore. Songs like this one will never go out of fashion due to its message, whether subliminal or somewhat tangible.

According to the site, three of the songs that will live forever are “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey; “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes, and Leonard Cohen’sHallelujah”. They may not be my 3 favorite songs, but on every Christmas we will loose count on how many times we hear Mariah Carey singing on every shop we go in. Or perhaps we are watching a story with a sad scene, and “Hallelujah” starts playing, sometimes instrumentally, other times, its original version. Songs like these or “Imagine” by John Lennon, are always gonna be in the collective mind of society, trying to make every generation fall in love once again as if it was a hot new release. Scores from movies such as Star WarsJurassic Park or E.T: The Extraterrestrial have also this magical element that will catch the attention of masses and bring emotions from the deepest places of our soul.

Here’s where the secret lays, the secret of a hit. It’s not how much dynamic a song has, how much of a production it takes to create the next hit. It’s the emotions they evoke on kids, adults and old people. It’s the ability to reach the soul and not the ears of listeners. It is how genuine the artist and its music are and the goodness behind the music to create a legend.
